Terms of Use

By using Shotivo (the "App") and its sharing service (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK where applicable) and capable of entering a binding contract to use the Service.

The App

Shotivo is provided as-is, free for local screenshot capture, annotation and saving. You are responsible for the content you capture and share.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Standard EULA and these Terms. See our EULA page for the full Apple EULA terms.

Sharing

Cloud sharing is available on Free. Shared screenshots are accessible to anyone with the link and expire after 7 days on Free; Pro links can remain live for up to 90 days (90 days by default). Do not share anything you wish to keep private or that you do not have the right to publish.

You retain ownership of screenshots you share. By uploading you grant us a limited license to store, host, and display the image solely to operate the share link until expiry/deletion. Be sure you have the right to share the content.

Public links: anyone with the URL can access the image. There is no password protection on Free links. Retention: automatic deletion after 7 days (Free) or up to 90 days for Pro, with the server default shown on each share; you can delete earlier via the app's My Shares. After deletion the image cannot be recovered.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Abuse rate limits or attempt to enumerate share links.
  • Disrupt or overload the infrastructure.
  • Upload content that violates privacy, is pornographic involving minors, or promotes hate/violence.
  • Upload malware or attempt to probe/exploit the Service.

We may remove content and disable sharing that violates these terms or applicable law.

We use automated abuse detection and may report unlawful content to authorities where required.

Purchases: Shotivo Pro

Pro is an auto-renewable subscription ($9.99/year) made inside the app using Apple's in-app purchase system. Cancel anytime in App Store settings. Refunds and restoration are handled by Apple under its App Store & In-App Purchase policies.

Auto-Renewable Subscription Disclosure (App Store)

  • Title: Shotivo Pro, product com.shotivo.pro.yearly
  • Duration: 1 year. Price: $9.99/year (local price & taxes may vary by App Store region).
  • Payment charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel auto-renew at any time in App Store → Account → Subscriptions (or iOS/macOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions).
  • Cancelling stops future renewals; current period remains active until expiry.
  • Refunds / restoration are handled by Apple under the App Store EULA and Apple's subscription policies.

Free features (capture, annotation, copy, local save, and sharing) remain available without Pro. Pro raises sharing and upload limits and lets links remain live for up to 90 days (90 days by default).

Restore Purchases: if you reinstall or switch devices, use Settings → Pro → Restore Purchases or Menu bar → Restore Purchases (calls AppStore.sync()). Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not the device.

Intellectual property

Shotivo, its logo, site design and code are owned by Valens.dev or its licensors and protected by copyright/trademark law. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the Service except as allowed by the Apple EULA.

Feedback

If you send feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use it to improve the Service without compensation.

DMCA / Copyright

If you believe a share infringes your copyright, email support@shotivo.app with (a) your contact info, (b) the share URL, (c) description of the work, (d) good-faith statement and signature. We will promptly remove or disable access and notify the uploader where possible.

Disclaimer

The App and Service are provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for lost screenshots or unavailable links.

We do not review shared screenshots before publication. Share links are provided "as is" with no uptime guarantee; we may suspend the Service for maintenance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim (or $0 if you use Free). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or loss of data. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some limits may not apply.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Valens.dev (Shotivo) from claims arising from your content or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend sharing or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or create legal risk, with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it; shared images will still expire per retention schedule unless you delete them.

Apple required terms

This EULA is between you and Valens.dev (Shotivo) only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App. Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal compliance, or IP infringement. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and may enforce it against you. You represent you are not in an embargoed country or on a prohibited-party list.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will post the new version at this URL and update the date above; material changes may also be noted in release notes.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Valens.dev (Shotivo) is operated, without regard to conflicts of law. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protections of your residence still apply.
